Women’s Golf in 11th-Place Following Opening Round at McAmis Memorial

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. - Senior Laura Buyers fired a seven-over par 79 to lead the Anderson University women's golf team, as the Trojans sit in 11th place following Monday's first round at Tusculum's Agnes McAmis Memorial Invitational at the par 72, 5805 yard Link Hills Country Club.

Buyers is tied for 34th heading into Tuesday's final round, while sophomore Katie Eskew carded an opening-round 81 and is tied for 44th. Freshman Sarah Timms is tied for 47th after notching a 10-over 82 and senior Kalyn Johnson (84) is in a tie for 59th with a first-round 84. Freshman Natalie Feder posted an 86 and sits in a tie for 69th.
The host Pioneers (291) lead the tourney by eight shots over second-place Lincoln Memorial (298) and by 11 strokes over Lander (302). Anderson (326) is four shots behind 10th-place Catawba and trails Erskine by five, while leading North Georgia by four.

Lander's Rachel Uremovich (69) holds a one-shot lead in the individual competition over Tusculum's Jillian Corum (70).

Tuesday's final round starts at 8:22 a.m., with the final groups going off at 10:22 a.m.
