CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Anderson women's golf team closed the 10th annual J. Ralph Hargett Memorial Intercollegiate Women's Golf tournament in fifth place after shooting a final round 341 Tuesday afternoon at the event hosted by Wingate University at the 5,673 yard, Par-72 Olde Sycamore Golf Plantation. The Trojans (337+341=678) slipped four strokes from Monday's first round but maintained their hold on the fifth spot. Senior Sophie Dembroski (80+85=165) led the Trojans with a share of 12th place, while Hayley Parks (84+85=169) moved up one spot to tie for 20th and Kalyn Johnson (86+84=170) was the lone Trojan to trim strokes off her opening round score, garnering 24th place. Laura Buyers (87+87=174) was consistent on both days and earned a share of 33rd, with Gabby Simpson (99+103=202) rounding out the scoring for AU, in a tie for 58th . The Trojans wrap up their regular season by competing in the Agnes McAmis Memorial, hosted by Tusculum College at the Link Hill Hills Country Club on April 12-13. Fin.
