Men’s Cross Country Takes 28th at Charlotte Invitational

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Sophomore Joshua Visi-Clark led the Trojans, as the Anderson men's cross country team finished 28th at the Charlotte Invitational, hosted by UNC Charlotte Friday afternoon at McAlpine Park.

Competing on the 8k course, which is also the site of the NCAA Southeast Regionals in early November, the Trojans faced a field that included 23 NCAA Division I squads and included 12 D-II teams, out-distancing Gardner-Webb, Newberry, Barton, Francis Marion, Presbyterian, Erskine and Lees-McRae.

Visi-Clark (27:14.47) notched 125th, with teammate Parks Edwards (27:19.95) taking 132nd. Senior Alex Pena finished 153rd in a time of 27:55.32, while junior Matt Imes (28:56.31) crossed the line in 170th. Freshman Tucker Huellmantel (28:56.88) was just behind in 171st and senior Ryne Welch (29:38.43) claimed 184th. Senior Drew Mahaffey (30:39.22) rounded out the Trojan contingent in 200th.

Anderson will get back in action, Saturday, Oct 6, at Furman's Gene Mullin Invitational.
