Men’s Cross Country Garners 12th at Eye Opener

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Led by sophomore Joshua Visi-Clark, the Anderson men's cross country team placed 12th at USC Upstate's 29th annual Eye Opener Invitational Friday night at Milliken Research Park.

The men's 8k event featured 24 teams, with Davidson College claiming first place.

Visi-Clark's time of 28:58.79 was good enough for 50th place, while junior Kyle Koby was just behind in 53rd, with a time of 29:01.62. Junior Matt Imes (30:42.31) was 89th, while senior Ryne Welch (31:01.71) crossed the line in 93rd.

Junior Parks Edwards (31:20.91) finished 100th, while freshman Tucker Huellmantel (31:35.25) and senior Alex Pena (31:58.94) finished 104th and 110th respectively.

Anderson will have two weeks off before getting back on the trails Friday, Sept. 14, when the Trojans visit Rock Hill, S.C. for the adidas/Winthrop Invitational.
