ANDERSON, S.C. -- Anderson's men's lacrosse heads to Florida on Saturday (Feb. 24) for a midday matchup against No. 2 Rollins.
"We're excited for an opportunity to play a great team on the road," said head coach Albert Mitchell.
The Trojans (2-1) enter the weekend following a 17-10 victory over Embry-Riddle at home last weekend. Tristan Kirkham (Langley, B.C.) won South Atlantic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his six-goal performance against the Eagles. Senior Peyton Jefferson (Allen, Texas) spearheaded the Trojans' defensive efforts, recording five caused turnovers, and freshman Aiden Dixon (Forest Hill, Md.) won 13 of 15 faceoffs on the afternoon.
The Tars (2-0) are ranked second nationally and host AU after a two-week hiatus. Rollins' resume includes wins over Florida Tech (18-10) and Barton (18-11).
Saturday's game is only the second in the series between the Trojans and the Tars, with Rollins having the 1-0 advantage after Anderson fell to the Florida squad at home last season.
