Anderson's Sheriff Named Freshman Of The Year

THOMASVILLE, N.C. -- Anderson University's Adam Sheriff was named the 2005-06 Freshman of the Year by the coaches of the Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference, the league office announced Thursday night. Sheriff, a native of Anderson, is the ninth Anderson student-athlete to be named Freshman of the Year since Anderson joined the CVAC in 1999. Sheriff had a scoring average of 74.60 in 15 rounds. He recorded one victory at the BMW Intercollegiate and three top 10 finishes. He shot 69 two times -- the first round of the Anderson Invitational and the first round of the Southern California Intercollegiate. Sheriff also was named to the All-CVAC first team.
