Anderson Men In Ninth After First Round

HARTSVILLE, S.C. -- The Anderson University men's golf team is in ninth place after the first round of the 2006 CVAC Tournament at the Hartsville Country Club. Pfeiffer shot a 286 to take a five-shot lead over host Coker. Limestone is third at 292, and Belmont Abbey is fourth at 293. Following Belmont Abbey are Barton and Queens (N.C.) at 298, St. Andrews Presbyterian at 301, Mount Olive at 308, Anderson at 314, and Lees-McRae at 317. The Trojans were led in the first round by Will Ferguson with a 77. Following Ferguson were Curtis Norwood 78, Nick Kirby 79, and Adam Sheriff 80. Because results must be received by the regional committee Friday afternoon, the CVAC men's teams played 27 holes Thursday and will finish the tournament with 27 more holes Friday.
