DAHLONEGA, Ga. - The Anderson baseball team opened a brief two-game road swing with a 3-1 setback at North Georgia Thursday night at Bob Stein Stadium.

Freshman Steven Cooper led the Trojans offensively, going 2-for-3 at the plate, including a double. Junior Shawn Delmontagne added a double, while freshman Chris Ayers, junior Paul Como, senior Tony Price and junior Jonathan Zalud each posted a hit on the evening.

Sophomore right-hander Spencer Earle (0-4) absorbed the loss for the Trojans, surrendering three runs (one earned) off five hits in 6 1/3 innings of work. He struck out six and walked four. Blake Gaubert (1-1) earned the win for the Saints, scattering seven hits over seven full innings of work, while giving up one earned run.

The Saints built a 3-0 lead with solo runs in the second, third and fifth innings with Anderson getting on the scoreboard with a run in the top of the eighth inning.
