BELMONT, N.C. -- The Anderson University women finished third and the AU men came in fourth at the Conference Carolina Cross Country Championships Saturday morning on the campus of Belmont Abbey College. In the women's 5K race, Anderson freshman Whitney Bishoff recorded a time of 18:55 to win the individual title by 25 seconds. With the title, Bishoff claimed both the Runner of the Year and Freshman of the Year awards. Bishoff's victory marks the fifth straight year that Anderson has won the women's individual title. Lees-McRae placed five runners in the top 18 to win the team title with 48 points. Converse was second with 78 points, Anderson was third with 94 points, and Limestone was fourth with 98 points. Anderson's Diana Willard finished 15th to earn all-conference honors. In the men's 8K race, Anderson placed three runners in the top 11. Nate Parsons (27:35) finished seventh, Alex Jordan (27:45) finished eighth, and Jeremy Hunsaker (28:13) finished 11th. All three earned all-conference honors. St. Andrews Presbyterian placed three runners in the top five and five in the top 18 to claim the team title with 43 points. Lees-McRae was second with 48 points. Erskine was third with 78 points, and Anderson finished fourth with 99 points. Mitch Cooper of St. Andrews won the individual title with a time of 26:51.
