WILSON, SC--The Anderson University women's tennis team has not won since February, and a rain-soaked season, wrought with cancellations and constant rescheduling was beginning to weigh a ton, but nothing lightens a load like a big win on the road; Friday the Lady Trojans went to Barton and beat the Lady Bulldogs 8-1 to go to 3-4 on the season in Conference Carolinas play, guaranteeing a sixth place finish and a spot at the league tournament in late April. "I am just so proud of these girls, overcoming so much, and giving themselves a chance to compete for a conference title," said head tennis coach Joey Eskridge after Friday's match. "We played the best doubles matches I have seen these ladies play since I have been a part of this program." The Lady Trojans continue their make-up sojourn Saturday, as they head to Mount Olive to face the other Trojans alongside the men's team at 9:00am; on Sunday the men head to Barton and the Lady Trojans rest up for a week in which they have a match scheduled for every day.
