Women's Golf Team Finishes Third

CLEMMONS, N.C. -- The Anderson University women's golf team battled past Limestone to take third place in the Conference Carolinas Tournament Tuesday at the Salem Glen Golf Club. Pfeiffer, leading by one shot entering the final round, outdueled Belmont Abbey, 305 to 306 to win the team title by two shots. The Falcons finished the 54-hole event with a total of 939. Belmont Abbey was second at 941, Anderson was third at 1,049, Limestone was fourth at 1,057, Queens University of Charlotte was fifth at 1,058, and Mount Olive was sixth at 1,075. Charlene Reid of Pfeiffer shot a 1-over 72 in the final round to win the individual title by two shots over teammate Brittany Beltran. Reid finished the 54-hole event with a total of 224. Carley Warrington of Belmont Abbey was third at 229, Katey Clayton of Limestone was fourth at 231, and Liz Cortez of Belmont Abbey was fifth at 237. Anderson's Sophie Dembroski shot an 84 in the final round to finish in 10th place at 253. Anderson's other three final round scores were Hayley Parks 88, Lindsay Vallo 89, and Kim Hausman 96.
