Lady Trojans Tied For Ninth After First Round

SALISBURY, N.C. -- The Anderson University women's golf team shot a 339 and is tied for ninth place after the first round of the Patsy Rendleman Invitational Monday at the Salisbury Country Club. Pfeiffer shot a 313 to take the first-round lead. Belmont Abbey is second at 320, Newberry is third at 323, Wingate is fourth at 327, and host Catawba is fifth at 330. Brittany Beltran of Pfeiffer shot a 3-under 69 in the first round to take a three-shot lead in the individual standings over Kelsey Babos of Catawba. Anderson was led in the first round by Sophie Dembroski, who shot an 81. Anderson's other three scores were Hayley Parks 84, Kim Hausman 84, and Lindsay Vallo 90. The second round will be played Tuesday morning.
