Men’s Cross Country Posts Sixth-Place Finish at NCAA Southeast Region Championships

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Sophomore Parks Edwards posted a 29th-place finish to lead the Anderson University men's cross country team to sixth-place at the 2011 NCAA Southeast Region Cross Country Championship Saturday morning at McAlpine Creek State Park.

After placing a close second at the South Atlantic Conference Championship two weeks ago, the Trojans saw three runners cross the line within 10 seconds of one another in the 10k event, hosted by Queens University.

Edwards (33:03.6) finished 29th, while junior Alex Pena (33:12.0) and sophomore Deniz Hay (33:14.2) notched the 38th and 40th spots, respectively.

Sophomore Kyle Koby (33:20.4) was four spots further back, crossing the line in 44th, while junior Matt Shaffer (33:47.2) garnered 61st. Freshman Joshua Visi-Clark (34:38.9) finished 88th and junior Drew Mahaffey (36:14.6) placed 127th.
