Women’s Cross Country’s Sangl Wins Spartanburg Methodist’s Biscuit Collegiate Invite; Wilson Finishes Third

MILL SPRING, N.C. – Anderson's Melea Sangl claimed first place at Spartanburg Methodist's Biscuit Collegiate Invite, while freshman Hagan Wilson finished in third place, Saturday morning at the Tryon International Equestrian Center.

Sangl covered the 6K distance in a time of 25:10.6, with Wilson posting a time of 25:44.4.

"The four who competed in Tryon ran near the front of the pack, which is exactly what the plan was," said Anderson head coach Kevin Eagle. "With having all four place in the top 10 and having an overall winner in Melea, I couldn't be happier."

The Trojans are scheduled to get back in action Friday at the Newberry College Invitational.
