Monday Memories: 2010 Women’s Cross Country

Anderson, S.C. –Junior All-American Whitney Bishoff's first-place finish helped propel the Anderson women's cross country team to a first-place finish at the 2010 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Cross Country Championship held at the Wingate University Cross Country Course.

Bishoff (18:10) outdueled Lenoir-Rhyne's Kate Griewisch (18:12) for the top spot in the 5k event, while Anderson freshman Lydia Davis (19:27) finished a strong third, three seconds ahead of Mars Hill junior Cassie Adamson..

Head coach Randy Greer was named South Atlantic Conference Co-Coach of the Year at the conclusion of the race, while the AU runners claimed other accolades as a result of their impressive efforts.

Bishoff was also named SAC Runner of the Year as well as first team all-conference, while Davis was recognized as first team all-conference and was named Freshman of the Year.

Freshman Madeline Fitts was named to the All-Freshman team and earned second team all-conference honors along with sophomore Emily Eckroth.

Eckroth (20:23) crossed the finish line in eighth while Fitts (20:24) was just behind in ninth.

Freshman Hannah Robles (21:27) finished 26th and Amanda Johnson (21:38) posted a 28th-place finish. Sophomore Isabel Berry (22:31) finished 41st and a pair of freshman, Rachel Westberry (23:29) and Madison Guest (23:32) crossed the line in 51st and 53rd, respectively.
