Women’s Track and Field Picked Eighth in SAC Preseason Poll

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Queens has been picked as the favorites to win the 2019-20 South Atlantic Conference Women's Indoor Track and Field Championship, according to the preseason coaches' poll released today.

The defending champions earned 109 points in the poll, including nine of eleven first place votes.

Lenoir-Rhyne earned the No. 2 spot with 101 points and two first place votes, while Wingate placed third in the poll with 93 points.

Tusculum came in at No. 4 with 77 points, followed by Catawba at No. 5 with 71 points and Carson-Newman at No. 6 with 69 points.

Coker took the No. 7 spot with 54 points, while Anderson earned the No. 8 spot with 45 points. Mars Hill followed close at No. 9 with 42 points and Lincoln Memorial placed 10th with 34 points.

Newberry rounded out the ranking at No. 11 with 20 points.

The 2019-20 SAC Indoor Track and Field Championships will take place on Feb. 29-March 1 at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C. Below is a list of the top athletes to watch from each SAC institution.
