Lady Trojans Fall To Georgia College

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. -- The Georgia College and State University Bobcats recorded a 9-0 victory over Anderson University in a non-conference women's match Sunday afternoon. GCSU took control of the match by winning all three doubles contests. GCSU's Anna Shchupak and Celine Martin paired up for an 8-0 win over Anderson's Tamra Lawler and Aline Salvany at No. 1, while Anna Davidsson and Jessica McKnight picked up an 8-4 win at No. 2 over Jessica McDonald and Milena Goncalves. Sofia Intriago and Gabby Acuna completed the doubles sweep at No. 3 with an 8-0 victory over Elizabeth Walker and Kasie Sparkman. The Bobcats also won all six singles matches in straight sets. Shchupak blanked Lawler, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1, while Martin defeated McDonald, 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2, and Davidsson knocked off Salvany, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3. Intriago picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win over Goncalves at No. 4 singles, while Acuna defeated Walker, 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5, and McKnight wrapped things up with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Sparkman at No. 6. The Anderson women are now 3-13.
