<b>AU GOLFERS BRAVE COLD AGAIN--FINISH STRONG</B>

VASS, NC--The final round of the St. Andrews Spring Invitational Tournament was capped off by another day of windy winter conditions in the sandhills of North Carolina; but nobody told the AU men and women golf teams, as the Trojans showed up and won the overall combined team portion of the tournament, posting a 1346 two-day cumalitive score and finishing ahead of Erskine and host St. Andrews. The Anderson University men's team (646) remained in third place for their tournament, but they shaved ten strokes off their day one total (328), posting a 318. The Trojans were led today by 6-3 junior Kenny Shockley (77). Freshman Ryan Booth also improved on his day one score with a 79, while Adam Sheriff and Will Ferguson both posted 81. The AU men finished behind U. De Montreal (620) and St. Andrews (631) The Trojan women took second in their tournament, as they finished behind #32 St. Leo (FL), posting a 344 today. Leading the AU women was Sophie Dembroski 9, a junior from Gahanna, OH (83). Dembroski also captured fourth place in the women's individual competition. Freshman Anna Jenks and sophomore Hayley Parks posted 86, while freshman Laura Buyers came in with an 89. Buyers and Parks finished in a tie for fifth place in individual play. The AU women's golf team will head to Tampa, Fl next week to play in the NIU Invitational on March 12 and 13. The AU men will have the week off before heading up to Charlotte, NC to tee it up in the Hargett Memorial Tournament.
