THOMASVILLE, N.C. -- Ashley Smoak of Anderson College has been selected as the NCAA Division II Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference (CVAC) women's cross country Runner of the Week for October 7-13th. Smoak, a sophomore from West Columbia, S.C., receives this honor for the second time this year. In five races, she has had three top-three finishes and five top-four finishes, but this was her first overall victory for the year. Her time of 19:38 in the Anderson College Classic was her first sub-20 minute race of the season. She has been AC's lead runner in four of the Lady Trojans' five races. Smoak will take Anderson up the road this week to Erskine on Thursday for the Erskine Invitational.
