CHARLOTTE, N.C. - After trailing 0-3 following the doubles portion, the Anderson University men's tennis team could not recover suffering its first conference setback of the season, falling to Queens Sunday afternoon at Freedom Park.
Anderson's lone winner of the day was Inaki Iriberri won tallied a 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 win over Jordan Owens at the No. 5 postion. With the victory, Iriberri improves to 6-1 in singles action on the year.
The loss brings Anderson's record to 5-2 overall and 3-1 in South Atlantic Conference play, while the Royals improve to 5-1 overall and 3-0 in the conference.
The Black and Gold return to conference action Friday when it squares off with Lincoln Memorial at 2 p.m. at the AU Tennis Complex.
