Woods and Jaramillo Named Jimmy John's Athletes of the Week

ANDERSON, S.C. – Camryn Woods and Diego Jaramillo of the Anderson University women's and men's soccer teams have been named the Jimmy John's Athletes of the Week, from games played Aug. 29 to Sept. 3.

Woods, a women's soccer player from Bettendorf, Iowa scored two goals on the week. She blasted a shot from distance against nonconference opponent Belmont Abbey and then scored the game-winner against nonconference opponent Belmont Abbey last Saturday at Spero Financial Field. The freshman played 97 minutes, taking six shots with three coming on goal. The Trojans have won four straight home contests.

Jaramillo, a men's soccer player from Cali, Colombia, scored the game-winning goal against Mount Olive in Anderson's 1-0 victory. In his first year in the black and gold, Diego leads the team with three goals while scoring in three consecutive matches against Barry, Mount Olive, and at Wingate. Four of his 11 total shots this season have been on goal.

Each week, one male and one female student-athlete are honored as the Jimmy John's Athlete of the Week for his or her performance in competition, in the classroom, or in the community.
