Men’s Golf Finishes 14th at Spring Kick-off Intercollegiate

ORANGE PARK, Fla. - Paced by junior CJ Messana's three-round 15-over-par 228, the Anderson men's golf team wrapped up play at the second annual Spring Kick-off Intercollegiate in 14th-place on Tuesday at the par 71, 6,688 yard Golf Club at Fleming Island.

Co-host Lincoln Memorial took a one-shot victory over Flagler after posting a three-day total of 860. Tusculum (878) finished third overall, one shot ahead of Coker (879). The two-day event featured 15 teams and 84 players.

UNC Pembroke (881) slipped one spot to fifth, with co-host Wingate (888) moving up one slot to sixth. Carson-Newman (894) claimed seventh, with
Georgia Southwestern (895) and Belmont Abbey (895) deadlocked in eighth.

Montevallo (897), Newberry (899), Cape Fear Community College (900), King (903), Anderson (913) and Limestone (914) rounded out the teams.

Messana (71-79-78=228) finished in a three-way tie for 49th, while senior Sean Shelton (79-75-76=230) tied for 55th. Senior Arran Setro (76-73-84=233) and freshman Payden Parrish (81-77-75=233) each tied for 59th, with sophomore David Wachter (78-80-76=234) garnering 63rd.

Flagler's Spencer Schindler carded a final-round 66 to win the individual title by seven shots over teammate Sebastian Barnova. Lincoln Memorial's Tre' Mullins, the leader after the first two rounds, finished in a tie for third with teammate Braden Galyon, who both finished three-under, one shot ahead of Gebhardt.

The Trojans return to the links on March 3-4 at the Richard Rendleman Memorial, hosted by Catawba at the Salisbury Country Club.
