SUNSET BEACH, N.C. - Sophomore David Wachter carded a two-day six-over par 150 to pace the Anderson men's golf team, as the Trojans finished in a tie for 14th at Lenoir-Rhyne's Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate on Tuesday at the par-72, 6,740 yard Sea Trail Resort.
Anderson (302-307=609) passed Lenoir-Rhyne (301-311=612) and Mars Hill (295-317=612) en route to tying Newberry (304-305=609) for the 14th slot.
Wingate (285-289=574) broke away from a four-way logjam at the top following Monday's first round to edge second-place Mount Olive (285-292=577) by one stroke. Lincoln Memorial (292-287=579) jumped from sixth to third, while Limestone (296-290=586) vaulted from 10th to fourth. Coker (285-302=587) slipped from the first-place tie following Monday's opening round into fifth, while Pfeiffer (297-296=593) finished sixth. Queens (294-300=594), Emmanuel (295-299=594) and Walters State (295-299=594) finished in a tie for seventh, while North Greenville (291-305=596) rounded out the top 10.
Wachter (74-76=150) finished in a seven-way tie for 39th and senior Sean Shelton (73-78=151) and junior CJ Messana (75-76=151) each finished in a tie for the 46th spot. Senior Arran Setro (80-77=157) rounded out the AU contingent in a tie for 72nd.
