SALISBURY, N.C. - The Anderson University men's golf team trimmed 23 strokes off its opening round and finished 12th at the Richard Rendleman Invitational, hosted by Catawba College at the par 71, 6665 yard Country Club of Salisbury.
Sophomore Arran Setro (80-68=148) led the way for the Trojans, shaving 12 shots from his opening round and moved from 60th to finish tied for 22nd. Sophomore Sean Shelton (83-71=154) trimmed nine strokes from Monday's first round and finished in a tie for 57th.
Junior John Moore (78-78=156) stayed consistent and tied for 61st, while senior Chase Epting (74-83=157) slipped nine shots and finished in a tie for 65th. CJ Messana (85-75=160) improved by 10 strokes and wrapped up the tourney in 76th.
UNC Pembroke led the 18-team field with a first-round 291 and held off Lincoln Memorial to win the team title by 10 strokes.
The Trojans are scheduled to get back on the course Saturday for the two-day Tusculum College Invitational in Greeneville, Tenn.
