ANDERSON, S.C. - Despite singles wins by junior Karen Ching and sophomore Alexandra Ebner, Anderson University women's tennis was unable to maintain Peach Belt Conference opponent USC Aiken, suffering a 7-2 loss Wednesday afternoon at the Max Grubbs Memorial Courts.

The loss drops the Trojans to 0-3 on the season, still seeking to get into the win column for the 2014 season. USC Aiken improves to 4-0 for the young season.

After falling in all three doubles matches, Ching gave the Anderson lineup some momentum when she posted a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Margot Simon at the No. 1 position. Following Ching was Ebner who tallied her first singles win of the season, knocking off Franziska Regel 6-4, 7-6 (4) at No. 4.

The Trojans were unable to pull off another singles victory, as freshman Rebecca Bruning, who was 2-0 in singles entering the match, fell in three sets to USC Aiken's Julie Arruda 6-2, 2-6, 7-6 (6).

AU looks to bounce back on Saturday when it returns to South Atlantic Conference play at conference newcomer Coker. First serve from Hartsville is slated for 1 p.m.
