HARTSVILLE, S.C. -- The Anderson College women's golf team is in third place after Sunday's first round of the 2005 CVAC Championship at the Hartsville Country Club. Pfeiffer shot a 324 to take the first round lead. Limestone is second at 328, and Anderson is third at 337. Four players -- Fiona Hindshaw of Pfeiffer, Holly Tompkins of Limestone, Katie Clayton of Limestone, and Heather Pothier of St. Andrews Presbyterian -- all shot 77 to tie for the individual lead after the first round. Anderson was led by Darcie Davis, who shot a spring-low 80. Brandi Jackson and Carlie Eastman both shot 85, and Jenny Odle shot 87. Jackson, a senior from Simpsonville, S.C., was named to the All-CVAC second team at the league's annual golf banquet Sunday night. The second round will be played Monday.
