Women's Golf Team Finishes 12th At Tusculum

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. -- University of Central Arkansas senior Kate Eck fired a tournament-best 72 to claim medallist honors and lead the Sugar Bears to the team title at the 2005 Agnes McAmis Memorial Tuesday at Link Hills Country Club. Eck's final-round and two-day total of 150 was one off the tournament record of 71 and 149, respectively set in 2003. UCA set a new tournament mark with a 615, besting the old mark of 629 by 14 strokes. Anderson College shot a spring-best round of 341 to finish 12th in the 17-team field. All four Anderson scores in the second round were in the 80s. Brandi Jackson led Anderson in the second round with an 82. She was followed by Carlie Eastman 83, Jennifer Odle 87, and Lindsay Vallo 89. Central Arkansas placed three golfers on the All-Tournament team with Eck, junior Christine Lecuyer (154, T-3rd) and senior Lisa Olson (155, 5th). Newberry College freshman Eva Cormann finished second with a score of 153 and Pfeiffer University freshman Nikki Taggart tied for third at 154. Pfeiffer finished second in the team standings at 633, followed by the University of West Florida (642), Florida Gulf Coast University (647) and Catawba College (670). Host Tusculum College finished ninth with a total of 677 led by sophomore Amanda Bowen's 15th-place showing (162). 2004-05 Anderson College Women's Golf Results
