Nova SE Uses Balance To Take First-Round Lead

ANDERSON, S.C. -- Nova Southeastern posted three 82s and one 84 to shoot 330 and take a two-shot lead after the first round of the second annual AC Invitational Monday at the Brookstone Golf Club. Rebecca Pomichter, Emily Sisson, and Rashmeen Nirmal all shot 82 and Amanda Brown shot an 84 for Nova. Lenior-Rhyne is second at 332, Catawba and Wingate are tied for third at 335, host Anderson is tied for fifth with Lincoln Memorial at 339, Tusculum is seventh at 341, and Queens University of Charlotte is eighth at 379. Kristen Kyle of Catawba is the individual leader after the first round. Kyle shot a 1-over 73 to take a three-shot leader over Annabel Fernandez of Lincoln Memorial and a five-shot lead over Martina Moo Young of Wingate. Anderson was led in the first round by Kathryn Adkins, who is tied for fifth at 80. Anderson's other first round scores were: Janie Wichert 85, Carlie Eastman 86, Brandi Jackson 88, and Darcie Davis 91. The second round will be played Tuesday beginning at 9 a.m.
