The big hits of the inning were a two-run double by Jackie Sepulveda and a three-run homer by Ayers. Sepulveda and Ayers had three hits apiece in the game for the Rifles. The Lady Trojans were their own worst enemy in the first game. They committed four errors, two costly ones in the third that led to three unearned runs. In the second game, USCS continued to ride a wave of momentum. An error led to two unearned runs and a 3-0 Rifle lead after one inning. In the second, a walk and stole base by Becky Albers, a RBI single and stolen base by Krista Altom, and a throwing error increased the USCS lead 5-0. USCS pitcher Emily Lewis limited Anderson to one run and one hit in the first six innings. At one point, she retired 12 of 14. Trailing 5-1 with two outs in the seventh, Anderson tried to rally. A single by PJ Taylor, a triple by Crosby, and a single by Rochester cut the Rifle lead to 5-3. But Lewis managed to get the final out to complete the sweep for USCS.
