Men’s Cross Country Slips one Spot to Eighth in USTFCCCA Southeast Region Poll

NEW ORLEANS – Despite capturing a 14th-place finish against top-notch competition, including several NCAA Division I teams, last weekend at the Royals Challenge, the Anderson University men's cross country team slipped one spot to eighth place in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) DII Southeast Region Rankings, as released Tuesday afternoon.

Mount Olive ascended from No. 3 in the region to oust previously top-ranked Queens in the poll. The UMO Trojans, who won the Royals Challenge, are at the top of the list with QUC out of the No. 1 spot for the first time this season. Augusta and UNC Pembroke remained steady at third and fourth, respectively, while Catawba jumped up three spots to No. 5. The Indians are ranked in the top-five regionally for the first time in program history.

Wingate, Flagler and Anderson each slipped one spot to sixth, seventh and eighth, respectively, while Lenoir-Rhyne and Columbus State finished out the rankings.

Anderson is scheduled to get back in action, Saturday, Oct. 26, at the South Atlantic Conference Championships.
