Track and Field Teams Post a Dozen Top-20 Finishes at JDL Kick-off Classic

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Anderson men's and women's track and field teams recorded 12 top-20 finishes at the JDL Kick-off Classic, Saturday at the JDL Fast Track.  

Morgan Bridges claimed 11th place in the women's 800 meter run in a time of 2:27.67, with Emilee Pitts bringing home 17th place in a time of 2:26.66. Olivia Rish was 23rd after crossing the finish line in a time of 2:33.45. Maddie Buddenberg finished 11th in the women's 3000 meter run in a time of 11:10.83, while teammate Lydia Gambrell was 12th in a time of 11:17.86.
 
Katherine Lewis claimed 19th place in the women's mile run in a time of 6:09.55, while Jasmine Barmore finished 54th in the women's 60 meter prelims in a time of 8.36. Barmore (1:02.97) finished 32nd in the women's 400 meter run, while Madison Seay was 35th in a time of 1:03.48 and Emilee Edwards finished 57th in a time of 1:08.60. Rileigh Wauters crossed the finish line in the women's 200 meters in a time of 30.69 and finished 77th.

Seay finished 35th in the 60 meter hurdles in a time of 10.22, while Wauters placed 41st in a time of 11.31. The women's 4x400 meter relay, consisting of Barmore, Edwards, Pitts and Seay finished 12th in a time of 4:13.97.

JoLyn Copeland was 11th in the women's weight throw with a distance of 14.19 meters and finished 25th in the women's shot put with a toss of 10.19 meters.

On the men's side, Cameron Owens-Hunter crossed the line in a time of 4:32.19 in the mile run and finished sixth, while Philip Quillen (4:39.85) was 17th. Ian Yates finished 28th in a time of 5:07.76, with David Rolon (5:10.40) finishing 30th. Weston Hutto placed eighth in the men's 3000 meter run in a time of 9:01.36, with Luke Horne claiming 15th in a time of 9:17.53. Joey Teachout was just behind in 16th place after posting a time of 9:18.17. John Drummond (9:53.14) finished in 30th place.

Jordan Anderson was 21st in the men's 400 meter run in a time of 52.14, with Rashod Monts finishing 35th in a time of 53.65 and Robert Jones (54.72) finishing 43rd. Anderson (7.10) placed 38th in the men's 60 meter prelims, with Austin Elgin finishing 51st in the men's 200 meter in a time of 24.17.

Chandler Johnson claimed 29th in the shot put with a toss of 11.31 meters, while Connor Wheatley was 36th with a distance of 10.11 meters. Wheatley finished 16th in the men's weight throw with a distance of 11.91 meters, while Johnson (10.23 meters) finished 22nd.  
 
The Trojans are slated to get back in action Saturday at the Clemson Tiger Open.
