ROCK HILL, S.C. – For the second time in as many weeks, standout runner Christopher Burton has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference office Wednesday morning.
Burton, a junior from Johnston, S.C., helped lead the Trojans to nine first-place finishes at last weekend's Susan Rouse Invitational, which was hosted by Southern Wesleyan. He won the 100 meter dash in a time of 10.88, while also winning the 200 meter dash in a time of 21.59, marking his second sweep of the two events in as many weeks, after also winning the 100 meter and the 200 meter 12 days ago at the inaugural Montreat Invitational.
Burton posted NCAA provisional qualifying times earlier this season with first-place finishes in both events at the Emory Classic.
