Men’s Golf Looking for Second Straight Strong Outing

ANDERSON, S.C. - After rallying from four shots off the pace to win the AU Invitational by four strokes two weeks ago, the Anderson University men's golf team is scheduled to get back in action at the Emmanuel Invitational, hosted by the Lions, Monday and Tuesday at the Cateechee Golf Club in Hartwell, Ga.

The Trojans will tee off against the host Lions, Southern Wesleyan, Bob Jones University and Trinity Baptist on the par-72, 6,628-yard layout, while potentially battling adverse weather conditions in the Peach State, as well.

Anderson freshman Grayson Bell tied for third, while posting a two-day 5-over-par 149 to pace the Trojans at their home event two weeks ago, as AU became the first Black and Gold squad to capture the AU Invitational team title since 2003.

Sophomore Forrest Fowler carded back-to-back 4-over-par 76s to earn a share of eighth place, with senior Rob Warren sharing the eighth spot with Fowler with a 77 on Monday and finishing with a 3-over-par 75 on Tuesday. Senior David Wachter tied for 14th after posting a two-day 155, with freshman Cole Jefferys finishing in a tie for 31st with a two-round 160.

The final round of the Emmanuel Invitational is slated to start Tuesday morning.
