NEW ORLEANS – The Anderson University women's cross country team slipped one spot and is ranked fourth in the most recent U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's (USTFCCCA) Southeast Regional Rankings, as released Tuesday afternoon.
The Peach Belt Conference continued to place five teams in the poll, with the South Atlantic Conference occupying four spots and Mount Olive representing Conference Carolinas.
Queens remained on top of the rankings, with Mount Olive continuing to hold the second spot. After claiming the North Georgia Invitational title last week, the Nighthawks moved up slot into third, with the Trojans slipping to fourth in the poll. Wingate, Flagler and Georgia College remained fifth, sixth and seventh, respectively, with Columbus State making an appearance at No. 7.
After being ranked sixth two weeks ago, Augusta continued to slide and dropped to ninth, with Lenoir-Rhyne remaining 10th after making its first appearance in the rankings a week ago.
The Trojans are slated to get back on the course on Friday, Oct. 12, at the Royals Challenge in Charlotte, N.C.
