Both AC Teams Sixth At Erskine

DUE WEST, S.C. -- Carson Newman swept both the men's and women's races at the Erskine Invitational Thursday afternoon. The Carson-Newman men had 54 points to win the men`s five mile race. Wingate was second, while Francis Marion finished third. Ryan Plexico of Francis Marion won the race with a time of 27:15, while teammate Ezekiel Koech finished second just 20 seconds behind. Eric Malkowski of Carson-Newman finished third. Erskine freshman John Sell was the top runner for the Fleet, finishing 23rd. Anderson's top finisher was Patrick Burt, who recorded a time of 29:34 to finish 17th. In the women`s 3-1 mile race, Carson-Newman won the team title with 80 points. Lander finished second, while Georgia College finished third. Jennifer Sauceman of Carson Newman won the race with a time of 19:15, while teammate Margaux Cowan-Banker finished second. Wingate's Natalie Creech finished third with a time of 19:34. Erskine junior Jessica Martin was the top runner for the Fleet, finishing eighth at 20:21, breaking the school record of 20:22.
