Former South Carolina Football Hall of Fame Vice President Mark Vaughan was named Associate Athletic Director for Athletic Development in early March, 2016.

"We are very fortunate to have someone of Mark's abilities and experience," said Director of Athletics Bill D'Andrea. "I have had the opportunity to work with Mark in the past and have known him a long time. This position is essential to our athletic department and I have full confidence that his efforts will enhance all of our programs."

Vaughan coordinates the Trojan Club booster efforts and is involved in securing corporate sponsors and capital gifts. The Pelzer, S.C. native, most recently served as Vice President of Business Development for the South Carolina Football Hall of Fame, where he successfully solicited sponsorships, coordinated the Hall of Fame inductions and the organization's Golf and Gun fundraiser.

Vaughan's resume reflects a diverse background of success. He has provided management training for store operations with the Spinx Company, as well as serving as the Director of Sales for Stratatomic Web Design in Greenville and as a mortgage loan originator and commercial real estate broker. He has extensive, broad experience as a sales manager throughout the region as well as nationally, with his efforts as the National Sales Director with SAB Enterprises in Greenville, S.C., from 2006-13, leading to a significant increase in sales levels.

"Anderson University has a proud history of strong competition among all of the athletic teams and we certainly want to enhance those efforts," said Vaughan. "The student-athletes here at Anderson have made a commitment to further their education here, but they also have made a commitment to compete at the highest level in the South Athletic Conference and NCAA Division II. Since they have made that commitment to us, we want to make a commitment to them that we will give them the tools and facilities to help them to not only compete, but also win championships.

Vaughan earned a bachelor's degree from Clemson in 1986 and was a member of the Tiger football team.

"I am thrilled to be at Anderson University and look forward to helping the Athletic Department in its campaign to promote and advance all of the teams at Anderson," added Vaughan.
