Former Anderson University graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach and women’s basketball standout Jennifer (Monroe) Anderson was named as the Trojans’ Director of Strength and Conditioning in October, 2020.

“We are very excited to welcome Jenn back to the AU Family as part of our Strength and Conditioning team,” said Anderson Vice President for Athletics Bert Epting, Jr. “She brings a wealth of knowledge to this role and I am eager to watch as she leads, supports, and develops our student-athletes at AU both in and out of competition. Jenn truly models our pursuit and integration of our Christian faith in all we do and I believe she will do great things for all our programs.”

Anderson served as interim Director of Strength and Conditioning for several months after Caleb Phillips stepped down to pursue other opportunities after becoming the Trojans’ first-ever Director of Strength and Conditioning in May, 2018. She earned her bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from AU in 2016 and garnered her master’s degree in organizational leadership earlier this month. The native of Clemson and resident of Seneca, S.C., had served as a graduate assistant in strength and conditioning since August, 2018, working directly with the volleyball, softball, women’s basketball, tennis and golf programs, while assisting with every teams’ off-season, preseason, in-season, and postseason programs.

“I would like to thank Bert Epting and Caleb Phillips for the opportunity to be a part of this great program and serve our student athletes,” said Anderson. “AU is truly family. As an alumni, I have enjoyed watching the development of this program over the last few years. I am very excited about the future of strength and conditioning at AU. I look forward to challenging, motivating, and helping our student athletes excel on the course, court and field.”

Anderson, who led the Trojans in both scoring and rebounding during her senior campaign by averaging nearly a double-double (14.7 ppg./9.0 rpg.), became the third player in program history to earn South Atlantic Conference Player of the Year honors and went on to capture First-Team All-Region honors in 2016. She is currently tied for 10th in career rebounds in the AU record books.

Following her collegiate career, Anderson served an internship at Furman then embarked on a professional basketball career with the Woodville Warriors in Adelaide, South Australia, before returning to her roots in the Electric City to serve as an Assistant Volleyball Coach under Trojan Head Coach Todd Hay during the 2018 campaign.
