Trojans Complete Season Sweep over Brevard; 90-58

ANDERSON, S.C. The Anderson University women's basketball team completed the season sweep over South Atlantic Conference opponent Brevard; 90-58, Wednesday evening at the Abney Center.

With the win, Anderson improves to 18-5 overall and 15-4 in the league while Brevard falls to 6-17 overall and 2-17 in SAC play.

The Trojans placed four in double-digits with seniors Jasmine Franklin and Heather Jankowy sharing game-high honors with 21 points apiece. Franklin recorded her second double-double in as many games and her fifth of the year. Jankowy netted four 3-pointers in the first quarter to become the 12th player in program history to score 1000 career points. Freshmen Madison Baggett and Alex Mollenhauer chipped in 11 and 10 points, respectively. Baggett was a perfect 4-for-4 from the floor, 2-for-2 from behind the arc while going 1-for-1 from the foul line. The Hunstville, Ala. native also grabbed seven rebounds while dishing out four assists.

Capping off the Black and Gold's scoring was senior Nakia Young(9), junior Kaylee Koerperich(7), junior Jasmine Raynor(4), senior Bailey Sims(2), freshman Makayla Green(2), Hannah Hodges(2) and sophomore Erika Martin(1).

Brevard placed three in double figures with the SAC leading scorer dropping in 19 points while grabbing seven rebounds. AnnaLee Bollinger scored 17 points with reserve Whitney DeMoss recording a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Tornados.

The Trojans controlled the contest from the tip scoring their largest point total in a single quarter(31) in the opening stanza. Anderson hit a small lull in the second period allowing Brevard to keep the game close.

Anderson opened the game up during the third period outscoring the Tornados, 29-7 to push its lead to 26, 69-43. The Trojans and the deficit were too great to overcome with the Black and Gold scoring 90 points or more for the second time this season.

Head Coach Jonathon Barbaree's Thoughts: "I'm really happy to get the win today, but I'm even more excited about the turnout for our Play4Kay game. We were able to honor some fierce survivors who have fought in a tougher fight than a game of basketball. I am also extremely proud to honor one of our amazing seniors tonight, Heather Jankowy. She is the newest member of the 1000 point club."

-Anderson is 14-2 when committing 20 or less turnovers.
-The Black and Gold hold a 10-2 overall advantage over Brevard since joining the SAC in 2010.
-Jankowy was the 12th Trojan to score at least 1000 career points.
