Women’s Basketball Adds to Class of 2017-18

ANDERSON, S.C. -Anderson University women's basketball head coach Jonathon Barbaree has announced the addition of Antaijah "Ace" Easter to the 2017-18 class.

Easter (Catawba, N.C./ Western Carolina) joins early Trojan signees, Taylor Hair (Orlando, Fla. / Olympia H.S.) and Alexis Tate (Auburn, Ala. / Auburn H.S.), to the Anderson family.

Easter is transferring from Western Carolina and will be eligible to participate in the fall of 2017. As a freshman Catamount, Easter played in all 30 games while starting in 23. The Catawba, N.C. native averaged 9.9 points and scored 20 or more points on three different occasions. Easter was recognized twice as the CRONS SoCon Freshman of the Week.

During the 2015-16 season at Western Carolina, Easter started in 28-out of-29 contests averaging 11.6 points per game. Easter shared the team high honors for 3-pointers made with 42. Easter scored in double figures 17 times while scoring 20 or more points four times. The 5-10 guard scored a career-high 29 against Chattanooga.

Barbaree on Easter: "We are very excited to add Ace to our roster this year. She is a very athletic guard that can play multiple positions. Offensively, she can shoot the ball really well, as well as use her length to drive past defenders. Her versatility will add a lot of depth to our team next season!"

Anderson is currently 10-3 overall and 7-2 in conference action. The Trojans are looking to defend their regular season South Atlantic Conference title.

The Trojans return to the hardwood on Saturday to face defending South Atlantic Conference Tournament Champions Wingate. Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m.
