Trojans Fend Off Pesky Warriors to Claim 59-53 Victory

Central, S.C. – Anderson University women's basketball overcame a slow start and a six minute scoring drought in the fourth quarter to hang on to defeat Southern Wesleyan, 59-53, Saturday afternoon at Tysinger Gymnasium.

Senior Nakia Young led Anderson in scoring with 15 points while classmate Heather Jankowy and freshman Alexy Mollenhauer added 10 apiece.

Southern Wesleyan placed two in double-figures with Breanna Richardson scoring 15 points while Aneysa Williams netted 14 points for the Warriors.

Anderson continues its road swing when it travels to Lipscomb University on Sunday. Tip-Off is scheduled for 3 p.m.
