Women’s Basketball Jumps Up to No. 6 in the D2SIDA Media Poll

DURANGO, Colo. –Anderson University women's basketball team jumped up several spots to No. 6 in the Southeast Region Media Poll, sponsored by D2SIDA, after defeating South Atlantic Conference foe Newberry Queens on Saturday 70-55, as announced by the regional committee on Monday.

Lincoln Memorial overtakes the top spot after defeating Brevard and pushing its overall record to 9-0 on the year. Limestone drops to the N0. 2 slot while Clayton State slips to N0. 3 following its idle week. Sliding down to the fourth position was Newberry after losing to Anderson on Saturday. North Georgia still controls the fifth spot followed by the Trojans in sixth place.

Lander, Wingate, King (Tenn.) and Augusta University round out the top 10 with King (Tenn.) finding themselves ranked for the first time this season.

The Women's Basketball Division II Media Poll, sponsored by D2SIDA, is in its third year of existence. The regional poll is released every Monday, followed by the national poll every Tuesday. Each region has six representatives that comprise the regional poll. The national poll has 16 voters - 2 from each region.

The Trojans return to the hardwood on Wednesday as they travel to Coker to continue their conference slate. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
