DURANGO, Colo. –Anderson University women's basketball team moved up one spot to No. 7 in the Southeast Region Media Poll, sponsored by D2SIDA, defeating Carson-Newman; 84-76 and Catawba;74-69 OT), both South Atlantic Conference opponents, as announced by the regional committee on Monday.
Columbus State overtakes Lincoln Memorial at the top spot with wins over Georgia College and Clayton State. The Railsplitters occupied the No. 1 slot since week 5 of the D2SIDA media poll. Limestone, Wingate, Clayton State and Lander hold claim to their rankings from a week ago. Anderson and North Georgia switch places with the Trojans moving up to No. 7 while Mount Olive remains No. 9 and Carson-Newman No. 10.
The Women's Basketball Division II Media Poll, sponsored by D2SIDA, is in its third year of existence. The regional poll is released every Monday, followed by the national poll every Tuesday. Each region has six representatives that comprise the regional poll. The national poll has 16 voters - 2 from each region.
The Trojans return to the hardwood on Wednesday as they host SAC opponent Brevard. The SAC matchup has been designated as a Play4Kay contest. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
