DURANGO, Colo. –Anderson University women's basketball team climbed two spots to No. 6 in the Southeast Region Media Poll, sponsored by D2SIDA, after defeating South Atlantic Conference foe Tusculum, 71-50 heading into Christmas break, as announced by the regional committee on Tuesday.
Lincoln Memorial holds onto the top spot after remaining undefeated and pushing its overall record to 11-0 on the year. North Georgia jumps up two spots to the No.2 position while Columbus State makes the biggest move leaping to No. 3 from the seventh slot. Lander slides to the fourth spot while Limestone claimed the fifth spot just ahead of Anderson.
Clayton State sits at No. 7 with Newberry, Wingate and Catawba rounding out the top 10.
The Women's Basketball Division II Media Poll, sponsored by D2SIDA, is in its third year of existence. The regional poll is released every Monday, followed by the national poll every Tuesday. Each region has six representatives that comprise the regional poll. The national poll has 16 voters - 2 from each region.
The Trojans return to the hardwood on Wednesday as they travel to Brevard to continue their conference slate. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
