DURANGO, Colo. –Anderson University women's basketball team dropped to the No. 8 slot in the Southeast Region Media Poll, sponsored by D2SIDA, after falling to Carson-Newman and defeating Queens, both South Atlantic Conference opponents, as announced by the regional committee on Monday.
Lincoln Memorial continues to occupy the top spot and has yet to lose a game this season (17-0). Columbus State remains No. 2 while Limestone and North Georgia trade places to sit in position three and four, respectively. Lander remains steady in the fifth slot while Clayton State move up to No. 6. South Atlantic foe Wingate moves up a notch to take over the seventh spot while Anderson drops two places to No. 8. Mount Olive remains at No. 9 while Newberry slides into the tenth position after receiving votes in last week poll.
The Women's Basketball Division II Media Poll, sponsored by D2SIDA, is in its third year of existence. The regional poll is released every Monday, followed by the national poll every Tuesday. Each region has six representatives that comprise the regional poll. The national poll has 16 voters - 2 from each region.
The Trojans return to the hardwood on Wednesday as they host SAC opponent Mars Hill to continue their conference slate. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
