Rock Hill, S.C. – Anderson University women's basketball senior guard Heather Jankowy was named AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week for games played Dec. 5-11, as announced by the conference office on Monday.
In a winning effort against SAC foe Newberry on Dec. 10, Jankowy scored a career-high 24 points on 8-of-13 from the floor and 6-of-11 from beyond the 3-point mark with the six treys eclipsing her previous career best of five 3's in a game. The native of Walhalla, S.C., also connected on 2-of-2 from the free throw line while adding five rebounds and two assists. The honor is her first Player of the Week selection this season and the second of her career.
With her efforts, Jankowy moved into the seventh spot for Anderson's most career 3-pointers made (158) and moved into sole possession of eighth place in career assists (245).
The Trojans return to action on Wednesday when they travel to SAC opponent Coker to continue their conference slate. Tip-Off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
