ANDERSON, S.C. – Both the Anderson University men's and women's tennis team earned a fourth-seed into the South Atlantic Conference Tournament that begins on Thursday afternoon at the Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter, S.C.
The men's tennis team currently has an overall record of 13-4 with one nonconference match remaining and a 9-3 conference record. The Trojans were ranked as high as No. 21 nationally and are currently ranked No. 36.
Anderson men will square off with No. 5 Limestone at 2 pm on Thursday. The Trojans won the scrappy home match, winning the doubles point and three of the four singles matches to claim the, 4-3, victory.
The women's tennis team currently has an overall record of 14-4 with one nonconference match remaining and a 9-3 conference slate. The Black and Gold were ranked as high as No. 20 nationally and are currently ranked No. 35.
Anderson women will face off with Catawba at 9 am on Thursday. AU played Catawba just six days ago and came out on top of a hard fought battle. The Lady Indians grabbed the opening doubles points, while AU was able to secure four wins in the singles portion to win, 4-3.
The 2023 South Atlantic Conference Men's Tennis Championship will be played at the Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter, S.C. beginning with quarterfinals on Thursday (April 20), followed by semifinals on Friday (April 21) and finals on Saturday (April 22).
