NEWBERRY, S.C. – The #22 Anderson Trojans (6-0, 2-0 SAC) grabbed its first conference road victory of the season 4-3 over the Newberry Wolves (7-3, 1-1 SAC) on Sunday at the Oakland Tennis Complex. AU stretched its winning streak to four straight over the Wolves, and 13 straight in the regular season overall.

"Tough match on the road at Newberry," said Director of Tennis Joey Eskridge. Looking forward to Tusculum on Friday. It's always good to get a win. Go Trojans!"

AU began the match with their sixth straight doubles point victory. Julian Kenzlers and Juan Sengariz rolled to a 6-1 win at the No. 2 position. Then Philip Olsson and Chambers Easterling won 6-2 at No. 3 to clinch the point. After the clinch, Newberry went on to win 7-5 at the No. 1 spot.

AU wasted no time in singles, quickly building a 3-0 lead. Kenzlers moved to 6-0 in singles on the year with a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 4. Easterling picked up a 6-2, 6-2 win at the No. 6 slot to extend the lead.

However, Newberry came back with a pair of wins themselves. Newberry's Schomberg bested Greyson Doscotch in a 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 battle at No. 2. The Wolves notched another point after a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 3 over AU's Philip Olsson.

With the team match hanging in the balance, AU turned to senior Aaron Cabo at No. 5 singles. Cabo delivered an emphatic 6-1, 6-2 win to clinch the match for the Trojans. Following the match being clinched, Newberry's nationally-ranked Bivol recorded a 6-7(4), 6-2, 6-3 win at the No. 1 position.

The Trojans return home for a battle against SAC rival Tusculum on Friday, March 3rd. Match time is set for 2:00 p.m. at the Trojan Tennis Complex.
