HICKORY, N.C. – The Anderson Trojans (9-1, 5-1 SAC) bounced back from Saturday's defeat with a 4-3 win at Lenoir-Rhyne (4-11, 2-3 SAC). The Trojans are now 6-0 on the road in the 2023 season, including 3 wins in SAC play.

"The guys played great today considering we lost the doubles point," said AU Head Coach Joey Eskridge. "We had to pull Julian [Kenzlers] out of singles because he wasn't feeling well, but Patrick Cronin and Spencer Snow came up big off the bench. Huge wins for those guys. It was a team effort today!" 

Lenoir-Rhyne began the match by taking the doubles point from the Trojans with wins at all 3 positions. With the strong start, the Bears entered singles nursing a 1-0 lead.

However, the Trojans answered back with a 7-6(4), 6-1 win from Patrick Cronin at No. 6 to put the match score at 1-1. Following a close Lenoir-Rhyne victory at No. 2, Chambers Easterling knotted the match at 2-2 with a three-set win at No. 4.

With the match coming down to the wire, the No. 1, 3, and 5 singles matches were up next. Juan Sengariz defeated LR's Cox in a close battle at No. 1 by the score of 6-4, 7-6(4). Senior Spencer Snow captured the final point with a 6-3, 6-2 win at the No. 5 spot, sealing a 6-0 road record for the Trojans. Following the clinch, the Bears took the final match by retirement.

The Trojans have another road match on Friday, March 24th against Mars Hill. Match time is set for 2:00 p.m.
