ANDERSON, S.C. – The Anderson Trojans (8-1, 4-1 SAC) suffered their first loss of the season on Saturday to No. 48 Carson-Newman (6-6, 4-1 SAC). The 6-1 defeat snapped the Trojans 12-match home winning streak, and 11-match all-time winning streak vs Carson-Newman.
In the doubles, all 3 matches were tightly contested, but the Eagles captured the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions. After the point was clinched, AU's No. 2 pair of Greyson Doscotch and Aaron Cabo grabbed a 7-5 victory.
Singles started fast again for Carson-Newman. Wins at the top 2 spots put AU in a 3-0 hole before Julian Kenzlers answered with a 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 win at No. 3. However, the match was clinched after the Eagles' Jankulovski won a tight 3-set match at No. 4.
Carson-Newman took the final two matches of singles in third-set tiebreakers at the No. 5 and 6 spots to finish play. Overall, five of the six singles matches went the distance.

AU has a quick turnaround to travel to Hickory, N.C. on Monday to face Lenoir-Rhyne. Match time is set for 2:00 p.m. at the YMCA of Catawba Valley.
