No. 17 Trojans Win 12th Straight At Home; Handle Coker 5-2

ANDERSON, S.C. – On the heels of a fresh No. 17 ranking, the Anderson Trojans (8-0, 4-0 SAC) notched a 5-2 victory over the Coker Cobras (1-9, 0-3 SAC). The win marked AU's 12th straight at the friendly confines of the AU Tennis Complex, and 15th straight in regular season play.

"We got a great win at home against Coker today," said AU Head Coach Joey Eskridge. "The team had most of the week off for spring break so we had to knock a little bit of the rust off on Monday and Tuesday. We're down a top player so we weren't playing with our A lineup, but our bench stepped in and played fantastic. I'm so excited for this team and the opportunity that has been given to them. The Lord just continues to bless us, and I can't say enough about that. Go Trojans! "

Doubles started the right way for the Trojans. The newly minted team of sophomores Juan Sengariz and Chambers Easterling rolled to a 6-0 win at the No. 2 position. The No. 1 team of junior Greyson Doscotch and senior Aaron Cabo were not far behind, posting a decisive 6-2 win to clinch the point. Seniors Julian Kenzlers and Heimanarii Lai San sealed the sweep with a 6-4 victory.

Sengariz, after jumping back into the national singles rankings at No. 62, made quick work of his opponent at No. 1, winning 6-0, 6-0 to notch another point for AU. Doscotch added a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 2, extending the lead to 3-0.

Following a Cobra win at No. 3, Aaron Cabo answered back by clinching the team match for the Black and Gold, fending off a fierce 2nd-set comeback to win 6-1, 7-6(5). Sophomore Patrick Cronin made his spring singles debut and posted a 6-0, 6-2 win at the No. 6 spot. Coker took the final match to conclude play.
